Just a bit of mountain fun
on the east face of Tryfan and you have never heard of me
keeping 3 points of contact at all times during this
just a bit of mountain fun
damned if i do , damned if i don't
but i will , and alone
at the summit jumping from Adam to Eve
mind the gap or it will take care of you
Darting up Helvellyn in a mad rush
it will be dark soon
think like a warrior and act like your not bothered
no such thing as giving up
it is a different type of frightend
purer , more real
and even the insects have come to see what i am doing here
i liked feeling things crawl over me
Do Snowdon from Crib Goch or we'll have nothing in common
wander An Teallach in the great wilderness
rejoice in the thought of getting so really very lost
Done Did Buachaille Etive Mor like a ugly little one
going unknown and unknown gone
Great Gable looks like a pyramid from Wasdale ,
but a dome from everywhere else =
i know from which diretion i am heading up it no probs
trying to blend in on Blencathra with 12 wainwright all for me
could do with getting rid of the weight anyway
the climbing endlessly is killing me but my soul loves it
so i am here in spirit
and must remember not to try too hard or risk losing out
BEN NEVIS BABY
Mountain with it's head in the clouds
she's venomous and crazy in the mist
i would hold my arms out and was unable to see my hands
and knew somehow i nearly was not alright
by myself 18 , 19 , 20 ,
crossed the bridge shitting it
hoping i work with me here
telling myself giving respect does not always involve crying
how would i know the way up ?
and hahaha i am a lucky sod i know i know i know
been on Sca Fell Pike 2 times
put it this way the first time i did not have a compass or map
and it felt like i had done that to myself on purpose
but because it was a bad bad day up there
i met up with a mountain leader in trainning out in the madlands
GOD WAS I GLAD TO SEE HIM
and orr no but the second time i found myself up there again
it was clear and i got to see where i went wrong and where i was
and all sorts of personal bullshit doing my head in
my mate Nick who is a good friend showed me how to map read
i think he wished he had seen such an area in horrendous conditions
yes
frost bite throat cut
a skull in smithereens
when the wind has a grip
and your beginning to realise
you just want to ' get out ' alive
we do not know what is going on at all at this point ,
paths here cross , and it's all become a bit much.
an area of peril

Wow! I really connected with this. There is a kind of madness to do with being in the mountains and you've expressed it so well. I've been frightened on the East face of Tryfan and jumped Adam and Eve (53" apart but feels so much more). Been battered by wind and hail more times than I can remember but KEEP COMING BACK, keep loving it. Last time I tried Crib Goch, the soles came off my boots and we had to cut down to the Pyg track by the Pinnacles. Hairy - as so often - but it won't stop me and it sounds like nothing will stop you.
