Lapsing
Lapsing
Away from home three years now
Devil’s gorge in August
Outside you couldn’t bear
Satan’s ruthless September
Still choking without air
Moving on so very soon
Only time makes the choice
New possibilities for speaking my voice
Will three new lives solve my ache?
Some new eyes is all it will take
Maybe from near, maybe from there
But right now I’m here
Time lapsing like an unending day
After sunlit version comes artificial version
Lives ending while some still working
Mine thrown in amongst thousands of souls
Asphalt jungle, smoky skies
Taste of love, bloodshot eyes
Holding hands, folding hands
Living banned, no man’s land
Fall into dreams
Leave everything
Wake to find
I’ve accomplished nothing
Still I’m lapsing
Waiting
Dreaming
Not knowing the future
Ticking into another day
So I put it on paper
Words to heal
Looking to the future
Keeping it real
Because time takes time
And we are just a spec
To my Mother Earth
I owe full respect
