Love (Blue Burns Black)
Love (Blue Burns Black)
The push and pull of reason and faith
Left alone to question innerspace
Quantify the ends to project the means
Whispering inflections behind the scenes
The open road, an ancient tale
A long lost dream of ancestral gale
Sent to wonder where it is birthed
Criss-cross time finding none of more worth
A warp of dimensional reality
One once-thought woven of speed
All signs point to finality
Willing to lose sight of the lead
The day is a soft and golden hue
Sweetness of candy corn in the air
Warmth is all that holds us true
As though we're not even there
Precious moments deeper than the last
A split-second emotion vying for a name
Of the world's sensations to be cast
Love survives to kill the pain
Read only what the stars align
The craft of love is undefined
Love the reason inside of you
And those who wish will see it too
A fitting gauge assures the chain
A link, a tie, a knot; inseparable
Faith hardly tries to explain
Love, however, is ineffable.
