The Bridge
The Bridge
Come soaring on
Lifted over drowned distance
Wide horizon of clouds
Puncture amber crowned entrance
Alone on the edge of the world
Reaching for granted happiness
Stepping out to step inside
Before what happens next
A familiar stretch of steel
As I’ve gone this far before
Without reason to continue on
Ashes rematerialize off the ocean floor
In black and white I see land ahead
Her expatriate rainbow over her gold
My spark ignites a fiery red
Fueled by madness centuries old
