The Eye Catching
The Eye Catching
It won’t last, but it’s only just begun
Living fast, my moment in the sun
I set off, carelessly emotional
To show off, splendidly biological
To live what I am, make the best of it
Be open to see our simple mysterious planet
The eyes holding their secrets
Thinking they’ll tell me exactly what I want to know
Could be plotting in private
To make me do exactly what she wants me to do
You’ve caught my eyes inside of yours
Conversing feelings, knowing I want more
Waiting for them to return, to catch once again and smile hello to her
Heart pounding for the first touch
While a kiss could mean so much
By the way she looks I could dream our future
Still afraid I’m not enough
While we lie together
Overcome by a love to come
Magnetic heat between our chests
As I am so dependent of her
Why this odyssey confronts me
I can only look to those around me
And see how love is needed in this world
For her steadfast understanding
And thousands of places we could go
For the devotion to her family
And telling me exactly what I want to know
After I’ve caught her eyes
Will I ever capture her heart?
To see through the disguise
Where the river parts
Take me as I am
I’ll do what I do best
I’ll be myself
Realize I’m always learning
No room to panic
A hero’s heart is burning
Maintain my humble brain
Love that I can love
Play the rude game
Reach what I dream of.
