Watching Headlights
Watching Headlights
Driving alone with twisted senses
Stars barely shine through our filth
The hate has become invisible fences
With not nearly enough guilt
That is someone passing me by
Their name unknown to me
A life as alive as my own
But living as a mystery
Once again I’m watching headlights
Paranoid and all alone
Will this be my final fallout?
Paranoid and all alone
Seeing from my corner view
Between the lines of written law
Will I not discover you?
I can’t believe what I just saw
Living here has changed my world
My mind, my heart, my place, my name
Drive away from boiling failure
Tomorrow night is only the same
One day the sun will return
I will find my heart’s true home
The stars will shine clear and free
Onto the Earth for which I shall roam
