Wakefield's Red Shed founder Jimmy Andrex launches poetry and music CD

Wakefield poet Jimmy Andrex will be launching a CD of poems set to music, celebrating local people and places,  on Thursday 9 October at 7pm. Andrex, who co-founded Red Shed Readings at the city’s Labour Club, will be launching the CD at the Orangery, Back Lane, Wakefield. He has previously published two collections of poetry, Gormless, in 2011, and Leet, in 2013, both through Sandal imprint, Currock Press, and performs his poetry to music in venues all over the north of England. Production duties were undertaken by ex Fear of Jazz and Young Americans frontman Simon Gorham, with additional production by Dom Bennison. The launch will also feature performances from Debs Robinson, Poet and the Loops, and Wakefield-born writer and Coronation Street actress Jane Steele. More details and Map

Welcome to the "poetry & music" CD club!
My own project - "Poetry To Please" - was produced some months ago and gets an ad. in this winter's
issue of the magazine "This England".
