If you dance to the music, you’ll find yourself…

entry picture

Had a prompt from our writing group last time of "

If you dance to the music, you’ll find yourself…" so I thought I'd give it a go, although I've not mentioned the prompt anywhere in the piece!

If you dance to the music, you’ll find yourself…

I can’t dance.

Anyone that takes a glance

Will see me prance and realise

That I can’t dance.

My Macarena is more macaroni

I jump around like a phony

Thinking I’m cute as a Shetland pony

But I can’t dance.

It’s Can’t-Can’t rather than Can-Can

I’m bouncing around like a mad man

Have been since the song began

I really can’t dance

People look at me and stare

Staring at the dancing bear

Think I’m doing it for a dare

I can’t dance

I wish I could get up and glide

Across the floor, not want to hide

But all I can do is slither and slide

I want to dance!!
