East Riding Readers’ Day - June
East Riding Readers’ Day is happening on Saturday 6 June 2009, 10am to 4pm at Longcroft Upper School, Beverley Tickets £12 (including lunch, refreshments and a book!)
Now in its ninth year, the East Riding Readers’ Day has become one of the most popular events in the Yorkshire literary calendar. Based on a mix of readers’ group sessions with authors, panel discussions and great conversation about literary classics, it never fails to leave participants renewed in their love for reading.
Authors attending this unashamedly bookish day are always top quality and this year is no exception. Participants will get the chance to talk in detail with: the winner of the Commonwealth Prize for Literature, Amit Chaudhuri; the writer of hilarious detective fiction, Malcolm Pryce; Orange Prize and Whitbread short-listed novelist Jill Dawson; and Vesna Maric, writer of a moving account of her experience as a refugee from the war in the Balkans. The mix of writing styles and subjects is designed to provide something for everyone. See site: http://www.bevlit.org/readers2009.pdf Note - ignore the '2008 Authors' they are the 2009 authors
