A hole in the sky
There’s a hole in the sky
Where the light pokes through
Where white cotton clouds
Move softly, silently
Confusing the eye
Diffusing the view
Whilst in contradiction
The dark grey, the white and the black
Mix, match, meld and obscure
Everything within sight
Every now and then a snapshot
Reveals a pocket of the deepest blue
As if trying to escape
Attempting to overcome
All that holds it back
In contrast the black
An ominous spectre
Hangs on
Lurking and clinging
Thunderous in its intent
Threatening to release
Its battle hardened deluge
Before gliding, sliding, slinking off
At the beckoning of another night

Hi Martin, happy new year, great to hear you like my tribute to Alan Henning, I was moved to write something, we need more of him.
Enjoyed reading your Hole in the Sky, found myself dreaming away until the contrast of the dark to the light, nice one, cheers Jeff
