Our animalness.

 

We don't like to see it

or admit it.

 

The Queen sits on a throne

of gold;

 

lies on a bed of rose petals

 

moaning and groaning

 

in the same crude fashion -

less than regal.

 

Wild as we and about as foolish

cloaked and crowned with egos

 

we believe that we can and do

rule baser urges

 

that we sit in a place above this

Animal Kingdom.
