Rose
O' Rose,
my heart once dipped in
thy fount of beauty,
you were there,
beautiful and bare
in your fortified heaven,
and, woe the day
I felt your face upon my palm.
O' Rose,
my heart once dipped in
thy fount of beauty,
you were there,
beautiful and bare
in your fortified heaven,
and, woe the day
I felt your face upon my palm.

What a truly lovely poem, Jimmy. Every single word you've chosen is just perfect. I love 'in your fortified heaven' and 'woe the day I felt your face upon my palm.' Such subtlety. One of my absolute favourites.

Aww, thanks, Tilly! It felt so good to write, and I was truly hoping it would carry on to someone else. It makes me smile what you said.
