I'm Dead Inside
Acidic words pour out your mouth, and down my throat.
Every searing truth, unblunted lie,
Cascading down, rotting me, from the inside.
Your ignorant actions like inconceivable shockwaves
Pulsate through me. Rupturing me within.
Combined result? A self decaying procedure, waiting to begin.
Every poisonous thought catalyses the process.
They weep out from my dense centre of misery,
Overflowing my skeletal tank, I’m drowning mentally.
I endured that decomposing mush.
Every fatal thought, destructive action, venomous word.
Inaudible cries for help went unheard.
But from rotting matter, life does grow,
Far exceeding the stagnant soil of woe.
You showered me with your nutritious words,
You supported me with scaffolding force,
You withdrew the toxic misery from the source.
I’m dead inside, but now a sproutling grows
One day I hope it blooms into a blackened rose
So I can gift it to you,
As a symbol of gratitude,
For the ironic beauty born from the void of self loath.
