WHO KNOWS?
The terrible air crash tragedy in the French Alps was a salutary reminder of the fragility of the human
mind and the catastrophic effects on others that it can inflict it undetected, untreated and out of
(self) control.

Who knows what filled that pilot's mind
So high in Earth's bright air
Or if he even sought to find
A thought for the souls in his care
Chatting...sleeping..on they flew
Thinking of home and friends,
Little dreaming (God forbid they knew!)
How suddenly living ends.
Shutting out the world and blame
His mind chose to ignore
The desperate pleas that surely came
From beyond that cabin door
Even breathing...eyes open wide,
Down was the way he chose
To oblivion on a mountain side
And why, we ask? Who knows?
