SOMETIMES
Sometimes you just gotta
Fill the milk jug
From what has spilt
From the churn
Of your tears
Sometimes you just gotta
Lie foetal on the floor
Relearn to crawl and walk
Until you can
Again, stand tall
Sometimes you just gotta
Remove the happy mask
And bare the despair
To begin the face lift
Of repair
Sometimes you just gotta
Sit in the wardrobe
In the dark
To hide and seek
When to push the door ajar
To let the light take a peek
Sometimes you just gotta
Go so cold you freeze
Numbing yourself from
The searing pain
Then very, very slowly
defrost yourself again.
Sometimes you just gotta
Scream so loudly in your car
Where no one can hear
To release the choke
of your fear
That you just can’t clear
Sometimes you just gotta……
