Van Morrison and Jimmy Page take in some poetry at the Troubadour
Coffee-House Poetry has always made much of its musical roots at the famous Troubadour cellar club in London, where Bob Dylan and Paul Simon both played in the 1960s. Rock music legends Van Morrison and Jimmy Page were only there to listen to the poetry on Monday night – but their presence still caused quite a sensation.
In the picture with them at the Troubadour is poet Scarlett Sabet, right, who read from her collection, Rocking Underground. The next Coffee-House Poetry night, organised by Anne-Marie Fyfe, is on Monday 25 May, a words-and-music impromptu format featuring Frances Leviston, Robert Seatter, Michelle Boisseau, and Stuart Silver, plus Huw Warren’s jazz improvisations.
