FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Images of obesity appear to define the age we live in. Despite knowledge of nutrition easily obtained about
cheap healthy food (sardines, eggs, beans, bread, salad, soup, fruit et al) to be found everywhere, there's
this perversity of purchasing food in modern life that sees it becoming a deadly lottery of "weight and C" for
those unmindful of self-care. Today's NHS is overburdened with complaints directly connected to vulgar
self-indulgence. Visit any hospital ward/waiting area for the depressing costly evidence. Two thousand
years ago saw these words of good advice that endure to this day, if only those most at risk would heed
them::
"Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food".
Eat wisely and you can eat cheaply - and enjoy the added benefit of contributing to a longer happier life.
Is that really so hard to imagine or accomplish? Or are some folk doomed to early departure from this
life because of their own idiocy and ignorance? Mother Nature does not suffer fools gladly!

Joe - a little care about diet is always likely to provide
health benefits to those who make the effort. Oily fish,
rice, lean meat like chicken, natural style yoghurt and
others out there to be found will contribute towards
wellbeing. Potatoes are full of carbohydrates and relied
upon for their energy - a double edged sword IF the
energy is not used in physical terms because the result
becomes excess bodyweight. The trick is sensible eating
- surely possible in an age that sees the world of information available on anyone's computer.
Cheers...good health and good eating!
