the fear

I remember a time

When my breath would burst forth from my lungs

Eager to greet the day

When the music was all that mattered

When I would dance until my legs could take no more

When people would seek me out

Eager to see me

To speak to me

To ask my advice

I remember a time when

My body

And my mind

And the world

Were synchronised

I got it

It got me

We worked well together

My father used to say to me

‘There will come a time when everything moves too fast’

I just laughed

I just thought about

Jim Morrison

Forever 27

Rock and Roll

Hope I die before I get old

My my hey hey

And now

Now

Now it’s feature walls

And hummus

And fear.
