Gillian Clarke, Ian McMillan and Kate Fox at Wakefield Lit Fest

A reading by the national poet of Wales, Gillian Clarke, will be one of the highlights of Wakefield Lit Fest, from 18-27 September, a festival with poetry events running through it.  They include appearances by Kate Fox and Ian McMillan; Black Horse Poets; Beehive Poets; Helen Burke; an evening of oriental music and poetry performed by Sankakei - a trio of poets featuring Amina Alyal, Oz Hardwick, and musician Michael Graham; William Thirsk-Gaskill;  Wakefield-based women’s poetry group Women’s Writes; a free spoken word taster session for those aged 16-25; Word life – an open mic night with Mark Grist and Leeds Young Authors; Gareth Durasow; and a night of Red Shed Readings.
