OUR BODIES TALK
our bodies talk in chemical clauses silently
constructing
a life for us, constellations
unseen even through closed eyes
though we sense the windmills and
the air at the heart.
Aliens within lose face or take charge
commandeer
our inner sanctums under who knows what control?
Then the invaders muster their forces
for our corruption
wherefore
the hospital lies in wait.
wherein
firm gripped by expert dealers in fate
prodded measured invaded
discussed prepared declared
as in Fritz Lang's Metropolis
stage managed
a human cause giving thought for pause.
A mystery of reaction propagation
factions formulae disguised as reason
held accountable by our presence
conveyed displayed
supported before God willing
we are adjusted redeemed
kept steady by intake flushed scavenged
saved challenged
then
Sail on you boyos with the trade winds at your backs
across the choppy seas of destiny with provisions on board
we hope to see you no more.
