Ambition
I’m going to the top of the hill
And by hook or by crook
I’ll get there,
I will
It’s sunny at the top of the hill
With sun beds and free beer
And friendly people
With goodwill
And cheer
When I get there
I’ll relax for a while
And contemplate my climb.
Now I’ve reached the summit
Things can never be the same
And I can only go downhill
Again.
So I’ll lord it for a while,
Let them treat me like a king
For one fine day they’ll unmask me
And call me ‘imposter!’
But I’ll have had my day at the top of the hill
Somehow I’ll get there,
I will.
