THE TREE
Bird song sings sweet melodies
Abundant bubbling brook meanders
Fish dodge and fly upstream
Darting dancing carefree
Coarse green grass growing lushessly
Time standing still
Drinking in
Conductorless harmonious orchestration
Bird song sings sweet melodies
Abundant bubbling brook meanders
My branches reach to the top of the world
Leaves shiver and shake
On my knarled old twisted bark
I ache with the weight of death
Placed on me late last night
Strengthened from within
Sending sap to my aching limbs
The mob come running towards me
Charging with axes machetes and knives
Bird song sings sweet melodies
Abundant bubbling brook meanders
Shuddering shaking petrified
I give up my burdens
Trussed and hung up on me
Lifeless bodies cast down
Beautiful young fledgling girls
Ready to fly to the world
Raped murdered tossed aside
Deranged insane blood thirsty men
Twisted minds warped imaginations
Red streams flow down
Down
Down
My battered tired trunk into
The now bubbling crimson brook
Bird song sings sweet melodies
