HUMIDITY

The ocean has ascended into clouds

unable to fall until a signal comes.

It has taken the light as its hostage

serious plans are afoot.

The landscape is on its back

the convulsion of a blistered snake,

then firecrackers play

within the watery furnace, the landscape

is long and restless, mottled

with dark dread.

The wanderer with his aching limbs

toils and prays for the oceans' release,

prays with bursting head.

At the open window I sensed him

yet the weather came looking

for me instead.
