Bulletproof
Today, with a heavy heart, I learned no one is bulletproof to hate.
Guns loaded with bullets and with hate,
When will we say that enough is enough,
National mass shootings at this rate,
Bullet proof vests aren't even this tough.
As more people continue to die,
Others cling onto their guns,
Hate hovers above where the bodies lay,
Cause there is only so far you can run.
The difference between other's and me,
Is that my love stretches across fields,
In these fields of tombstones it's clear to see,
That for no one does hate yield.
I hope that humanity will lower their weapons,
That we'll finally lay down the guns to rest,
And that love will finally step in,
Because hate gets through any bulletproof vest.
