Vow of a father
"Care to share your feelings?", I said to my teen son
As men we grow tired, and expose only strength
Keeping our sinful pain, bottled up at arm's length
Having this right outlet to express amidst stun
With my hand on shoulder, and offering a chair
Sitting down, face to face, to see his emotions
With caring father's ear, listening in actions
Letting him to resolve his pain and his welfare
The delicate balance in trying to steer him
While not forcing issue, and allowing his drive
As men can sabotage the rightful rhythmic jive
With warranted reply, I guided for a whim
Overseeing future that will have richly dose
His brightness needs a way, my ears will still be close
