Changing Gears
As aspirations change, so do the days of life
What was valued in past, might not be your present
And seeking a future without any resent
That the dreams are fulfilled as there's no afterlife
Giving up on one goal to chase another dream
Is not a bad moment, but a changing of gears
Heading for new route, with trembling, stressful fears
That the past might still haunt, hopefully to mute scream
When will the clutch be pressed and change into reverse
To do the one-eighty onto exciting course
One that labors away as an uncharted source
If life was different, and predictions of worse
Champions of our change amidst all the journeys
The internal struggle, retaining attorneys.
