My Misery

The moon itself seems closer on
A dark and lonely night,
Than ever will your presence be,
So I'll stay out of sight

Do you ever wonder what it's like
To cry out to the stars,
And have nobody answer back,
Just silence from afar

Much like my heart's been put on ice
And left to slowly die,
I wait here in my misery,
For you to hear me cry

With so much pain to shoulder, I
Might never see such peace,
As death may put into my soul
When he brings me my release

This one was partially inspired by my recent discovery of Hank Williams Sr. Hahaha, not that I feel this is similar to his work in any way, but his words had some influence in this piece.

I can hear Hank wailing, even now. Kinda nice slow tempo too.

And have nobody answer back,
JUST silence from afar?

More people top themselves to C&W than to anything else.

Stay with us, Eric. This is good!
