I would love to experince
a love that is:
real
lasts thru all up's and down's
is gentle but firm when needed
A love that is:
friendship
and forgiveness when respect has been breached
that cares how words effect the other
A love...that does not try to own
but to be with
one that can be taken to the grave.

It's something of a platitude, now, but to find that kind of love for myself in my own heart is my goal. To truly, unequivocally love myself. I don't think I'll ever find an outward love like this, but if I can respect myself, forgive myself, and curtail my self-reproach I am sure I would live without regret. ?

I ? this poem Lynn. I pray we both experience that real love. The thing is that we have to learn to give that type of love out because that is how it comes back around.

Just finished a session with my therapist. He would agree with your Randall and Tom. I am to find my princess and to learn to love and respect her in this manner and for her to do so for others.
Life often leaves me scratching my head. Poetry is my other therapist and my crossword puzzles. Keeps my mind growing and my mental outlook growing as well.
So appreciate the poets on this site! The insights shared are really helpful
