I loved but haven’t lost you

The heart that throbbed with constant charity

has a stillness that’s deafening.

The eyes that spoke of endless compassion have shut for now.

He’s picked you for a divine role

to sing at His celestial gig

I did not grieve because you’ve taken a part of me with you.

Glad you like it Stuart. Always good to receive positive feedback. They are like blessings.

You can say that I dug this out from the darker recesses of my mind, very late last night.

very lovely this, like an ancient ode to a lost love, perhaps written on papyrus or a scroll found many layers below the earth. reminds me, oddly, of aldous huxleys 'the island'.
