Sometimes they are left open

there is a purpose in that you see

they want to be seen,

it's good for what they do

to be seen by others

it shows their power, control.

So at night the blinding lights are left on

curtains and doors left open

as if asking us to go in and look,

as if we could not see enough from the outside,

but we others have always been that way,

shyly moving away from that which

we do not want to confront,

that's why evil and politics

work well together.

Now it's time to shut the book

and the curtains,

sleep well.
