Aflame

Prometheus, no need for fire
                      Queen B is aflame
No, she is an empress
                       Kings bow before her prowess
No, she is a goddess
Aphrodite falls short in her light
Prometheus, no need for fire
               Queen B is aflame
                                    And I am
                                                  wax in
                                                             her presence

hello again Juan - yes, definitely keep your Queen B - it was how I read the poem so I am pleased I was on the right track. I totally agree with Stu btw.

Colin, actually when I sat down to write this I was wondering if I should have written Queen... instead of Queen B. Queen B is a slang term that has many definitions in the urban dictionary: most bad but some good. Queen B to me is that girl who doesn't follow the trends, she sets them.
Prometheus is a Greek god that stole fire for humanity because we were ignorant and living in the cold. However, Queen B is aflame so we no longer needed him because this girl is 'super hot' - not that I use this expression in conversation to refer to attractive ladies but it does refer to some extent to her beauty and intelligence.

Like I said I was thinking about going with Queen... but Queen B seemed more appropriate.

i love this, the way it is set out, the thick, heady imagery, the historical theme and the excellent last lines.

I like this Juan but could you explain Queen B for me? I'm pretty sure I've got your meaning but I would be interested nonetheless. Thanks, Colin
