The homeless man
A penny for your thought to the homeless old man
Sitting beside his cart to hand him a sandwich
And he starts telling me about his life's vanquish
How he ended on streets and how it all began
It was a sad story of a lost veteran
Coming back from mission to find wife with other
Losing his peaceful mind, and clouded with smother
Working on his drinking to relieve his sad zen
Not able to keep work, losing the roof over
He went from couch to couch, until his violent rage
Got the better of him, to a prison engage
Out of jailed custody, he became a rover
Hoping for a great chance to finish his story
He's now sober for years, yet no address glory
