A Chasm too Great
I walk a sandy road in my bare feet
with the occasional stranger I do meet
Yet you are far away, but in the same day
do you think we will ever meet one day?
You wander around a department store
going about from floor to floor
Shelves piled high with pricey attire
from this quest you never seem to tire
My wardrobe has shorts and T shirt
most of which are covered in dirt
I care not how I look or appear
because there is no mirror here
You sit by a pool and chill out
as we go in search of a water spout
You enjoy luxury and wealth
but we do gain only by stealth

Juan,
Thank you for this. I loathe the terms 1st and 3rd worlds. Perhaps one day we can all live in the same world. I believe in the dignity of the human being. Today on TV I saw a man in his fifties who had just been deported from the USA back to Mexico. He was alone in a crowd of people in a similar situation. He was in tears. He had left his son behind in the US. What mean spirited people do this? Thanks again. Keith
