Happy is the Bride on Whom the Sun Shines

She, a shimmering vision of pearl and ivory

With grace walked up the aisle most dignified

To place her hand in mine and lift the veil

She radiated beauty warm and pure

Her smiles, like sun kissed rays, were heaven sent

To drive away the clouds of apprehension

With vows expressed and rings exchanged

We two embraced on this our wedding day

And in her hand she held the brittle shell

That is my freely given loving heart

Filled up with all my guilt wrapped good intentions

She held it gently so that it would not

Be broken by her delicate, slender fingers

Our love, so built on trust and friendship

As to last a thousand years and more

Shall live beyond some time worn tomb

Or empty words hewn from a blackened stone

But shall eternal live, long after fickle youth

Or fleeting mortality have passed into the grave

But today we celebrate for the sun shines

Our friends and family gather to wish us well

And we two embrace on this our wedding day

Lovely! I think your wedding day is always a magical memory, even if things go wrong later on.... its something that you would never change.

Most of my relationship poems are grim! so nice to read something the opposite. Liked the swing in subject in the middle "And in her hand she held the brittle shell. That is my freely given loving heart" Great stuff that bit. Keep Posting Win
