THE TIMES
The Times it is a'changing
crumpled headlines rearranging
in the fire at my feet
scorching, giving way to heat.
"Immigrant crisis on the way"
the problem waits another day
as the message goes up the flue
giving more room for me and you.

Thanks David - it is hard to justify any depth to this offering, it is full of holes in terms of a serious assessment; but I feel that may be a lone position and one that may well antagonise. Of course we must meet serious matters with wise heads, but what is wise when we rely on experts to do our thinking?
There is a parallel in the inhuman burning of the holocaust
because it was an institutionalised position . We can always burn a newspaper or indeed eat chips out of them(retro) without crime but then think also of the Nazi book burning.
You are right to allude to a laissez faire attitude; although perhaps we are too wound up by the media not to notice every nuance of decision making . Alas, what are we to do?
As for the job position, I think you refusal said a lot about your sanity. Mind you the 1.4 mil would come in useful.
