The wind
My whole world is reflected in your face
I can't believe I've finally found the place
Which could be my mind's saving grace
Such symmetry in the way we orbit life
It's like our paths were designed to unite
To alleviate all the suffering and strife
Which is life's reminder that it's all trite
This world was not meant for the soul
A pitstop on the road to meeting a goal
Which will surely fill the gaping hole
Thay we try to fill in this world so old
But what happens when the winds blow
And carry me away and into the storm
What will happen? Where will you go?
What if I am taken too far from the warm,
Peaceful embrace that I already know?
What if a stranger lurks in the cold winds
Waiting to undo all the wonderful things
That we have achieved through our peace
Causing us more sadness and more grief?
Or what happens if worse than that still
An understanding grows against my will
And that stranger becomes my final place
The space where I build my new world
And of you remains not even a small trace
As I forget what was before the wind.
