A terrific poem, meaty and evocative, wrapped in a gripping title, an evocative first line and a killer final one, a catch and kick strategy that is awesome. It's a bonus to have such potent ideas in between.

Thanks Andy, for your kind praise.

Just in case I've inadvertently revealed myself as Perv No.1, I better hurriedly offer more clarification. I wasn't thinking exclusively of my own sexual fantasies when I wrote this (he said, coughing nervously, hoping his words sound believeable). ?

Thanks again Andy, always good to hear from you.

For me, pace Ray, it's the last verse that does it. Ace.

Then i read your own comment; it saddened me to read 'about those we'd love to have sex with but, sadly, can't'. How long's your list? Mine's quite modest, i think.

Hi Ray and Col, very grateful to you both for thinking that clever clogs are required to decipher this one but, actually, ordinary shoes will do fine. It's about sexual fantasy, including long-term fantasies, about those we'd love to have sex with but, sadly, can't. Hope this clarifies things.

Thanks as always chaps, much obliged to you both.

this is very clever but I'm not the clever clogs that Ray is after. It took me a while to get past the first line which I kept reading repeatedly - like closing one's eyes tightly in the sun and seeing images floating.

And I love the record. rewind. watch. edit. lines which are inspired. There are parts of this that remind me of several classic British movies - Blow-Up and The Ipcress File for example. Certainly intriguing.

I'd call this a riddle Paul, and some clever clogs will no doubt hit the point - it has a certain drive to it. The last verse hold the key I believe. I would love to discover it aythangyow.
