2017 and Trev goes to Texas for a 7th time: Austin to McAllen
Image: The original flag when America was a colony, flown outside my friend Clarks house, he always flys it in honour of an English guest, I was honoured to be one such guest. A lover of the Royal Family he often flys the Royal Standard for stae occsions such as the Queen birthday. A highlight of one of his trips to London was when watching Princess Ann pass by in a carriage she waved to him.
There is only this poem for the drive down as I was busy almost as soon as I arrived as will be seen in the McAllen section next.
26.04.2017 – 123) Fuelled the car last night, got to do things right
Cos’ I was away before it got light
No time for a lull, got away before the road was full
San Antonio an accident slowed us down, on the outskirts of the town
Soon we’re round an’ the road slowly clears, to the East the sun appears
Roads clear South of town, really got my foot down
Remembering to heed, the signs an’ watch my speed,
When there was a need
Like slowin’ down goin’ through a town
Then give the throttle a blast, once I’m past
An’ theme the roads are clearer, the quicker I get nearer
Till at last the journey that should have taken till 5 to 1
By 11:30 it was done
Find Valley View High an’ go in, now let the poetry begin
