Thanks Mom

Your warmth

permeates my skin

holding my  life

within your grace

The beating of your heart

resonates within me

a rhythm of life

that you bestow

Within Your breath

I am breathing

without you

I would never be

So I take from you

what you are giving.

My life,My birth

My destiny

Hi Ray thanks for your comments. You raise a few big questions there. What is and how do you define conscious. What is life, what happens after we die. So many different answered and opinions are out there.
More controversy. So what’s the answer? Google or Wickapiedia ?
Thanks,Des

It is an original and brave poem that puts consciousness there in the womb Desmond and as Colin says that sparks strong feelings. I often wonder about previous lives and the continuance of spirit experience so entailed.

Thank you Colin for your comments. I can imagine that your prose night was a very emotive, it is a very controversial subject whether to allow terminations or not. I belive ultimately a woman has the right to choose. But as you say it is a very emotive issue.
As for saying my poem makes you think of Kate Bush's 'Breathing' I take that as a great compliment, she is one of my favorite artists. Thanks, Des.

I was listening to a live reading of a piece of prose last night given by two people - one read the voice of the mother who was waiting to receive the morning after pill and the other read the voice of the unborn child who also lamented the loss of previously terminated siblings. It was very effective and emotive. As is yours Desmond but for obviously different reasons. I can't help but think also of Kate Bush's 'Breathing'. Thanks for posting. All the best, Colin.
