IT STARTED WITH A KISS
It started with a kiss,
Never thought it would come to this;
I’m labelled as it is
A predator misogynist;
You and I had danced all night
Beneath the strobe light’s glow,
So when we reached the dance floor’s edge
Underneath the mistletoe
Your cheek was resting on my chest;
I lifted up your head
And kissed your forehead gently then;
I must have been misled;
But how was I to know
How my approach would go;
It started with a kiss,
Never thought it would come to this.
It started with a kiss
And ends up in a courtroom;
Though I’m no chauvinist
As everybody will now presume;
If a guy makes his advance
How’s he supposed to know,
Will it be an unwelcome pass?
Will it be “Yes” or “No”?
I’d played by conventions rules -
I didn’t cut no corners;
In future I won’t be such a fool
I’ll start to use pro-formas;
Yes, before romantic trysts
Perhaps you’d fill in this tick-list;
It started with a kiss
Never thought it would come to this.

I did think twice about posting this, MC. There won't be a man or woman, gay or straight, who hasn't said or done something inappropriate. Which of us should cast the first stone, I say.
