THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

entry picture

Here's my contribution towards the coming Festive Season.  Grateful to Diamond Studios of Bristol.

...................................................................

I was sitting alone, long after you'd gone

Wondering how love had gone wrong

When in my mind your face I'd find

And with it the words for this song

That Night before Christmas all on my own

Was the loneliest night of the year

The Night before Christmas when I picked up the phone

And struggled to hold back a tear

Hurting so bad you weren't here.

You'll never know but I know it's so

My joy when you answered that call

And the catch in your voice made my heart rejoice

That Love was still there after all

That Night before Christmas all on my own

Was the loneliest night of the year

But the Night before Christmas when you picked up the phone

And I heard your sweet voice in my ear

Was the happiest night of the year!

Thanks Tom. I like to finish any nod to Christmas on a
positive note. It has provided me with many happy
memories over a good many years.

Thanks for the supportive comment, JC.
It's due out on the promotional Country music CD collection
"Hotdisc" (December issue) and that gets circulated to the
European DJs who promote that music. For my own
pleasure I had a music video DVD made with some very
nice visuals to go with the song. A first for me and something I've been meaning to try for a while after seeing
various sorts on TV. Maybe I'll get in early in 2018 knowing
that Festive Season stuff has to be promoted pretty early
every year to give those interested a chance to do their
thing in good time for Christmas.

Tight construction, MC. You should tout this to a recording studio. A Christmas song might make you a bob or two.
