As the new year approaches

And, I go through and delete people like contacts

Out of site out of mind

As I can't scroll past them anymore

Or see what we discussed in the past

Gone permanently

But the words messaged and physical experience will stay with me

Learn from the past, pay attention to signs in the future

The new year isn't a fresh start

Just an okay feeling to move on
