cut out my lungs (you stole my breath)

my breath left me

on a day of cold and color

against your turned back

white face, white mist

under the beat of your wings

singing the song of the swan

snow falls down

through a world of stolen breath

a feather finds its way

beside a snowflake

curled in my palm

i wish on a white and silent world

that you would take my heart

the way you took my lungs

the feather is crushed

the snowflake melts

the first rose blooms

as my breath returns

to an empty chest

red petals scattered around it

you cut out my lungs

so i laid my heart

at your feet

I love this. The repetition of certain words works really well and the images blend into each other almost as if we are standing in silently swirling snow. The white of the snow and swan and mist is neatly juxtaposed with the bloody red rose petals. Very, very good Mahika. Welcome to WoL. All the best. Colin.

Really good! The coldness of the weather and the coldness of the feeling are neatly blended.
