I want to be
the work at home voyeur
I want to pilfer through your things
while you tell me what they mean
I want to hear the inflection in your tone
as you tell me why I picked them and why I should leave them alone
and I want to watch the look on your face
as I refuse to replace the refuge I've taken from you
in silence
from far away
while you remember the day
you thought you knew me.

This is a subject that has pervaded my thoughts persistently in bouts over the past two decades. As of the moment, all that I can conclude is that among many other actions we take on behalf of or against one another, "spying" is, at times, only another necessary evil. Though, as any other evil, never to be taken lightly.
As to it being how the world works? I suppose, on a certain level, restricted info is at least one reason why there's such a thing as the deep state--some have virtually unlimited access to what they want and others don't.
All that said, there is no one that is bulletproof. People fret because they don't want to become a casualty. But, the right gun, the right ammo, and steady aim overcomes even the best armor...
Thanks for your response and take good care, all of you. It's been an especially grueling week at work here at home and I'm looking forward to taking a little respite cruising the site.
