2018 Once more Trev's on his annual Texas Tour Pt 9 McAllen to Austin
Image: Ivy, having to say goodbye to her after we had got on so well, I felt really sad hence the first poem, which captures my thoughts so well.
30.04.18-148) Ivy asleep in the other room,
I wake to the mornings gloom
Tried to move through the house
With the stealth of a mouse
Pack the car quietly but to no avail,
When I saw a little figure with a wagging tail
Our last walk round the complex before I’m Austin Bound
Sharin’ the moment as only they can, dog and man
Oh that I could stay longer but the call of home the stronger
With our eyes we said our sad goodbyes
A moment I’ll forget never, it will stay with me forever
An’ captured for all time in my rhyme
149) Journey back to Austin never better,
Roads clear, followed signs to the letter
Traffic flowin’ radio goin’ Gospel, Country, Blues, whatever I choose
Journey don’t seem as long, lose myself in a song
Sometimes tears, sometimes a smile, radio playin’ mile after mile
As usual I see, Statetrooper’s pulled someone over,
As usual I’m glad it’s not me I hope it’ll never be,
Then it’s journeys end turn the radio off feel like sayin’ thank you,
Cos’ on a long journey it becomes my best friend
150) Buzz Mill for the final time to share my rhyme
Nice an’ clear, my final Texas gig of the year
National poetry month as usual I’ve had a ball
So I’ll say “thank you folks, good night an’ God bless y’awl”
My closing poem after my last official performance
