The inventions that introduce mechanical/electronic substitutes for human need in whatever aspect of life are
now increasingly in the public consciousness. Prosthetics
that give their wearers the returned use of a lost bodily
unit are becoming increasingly sophisticated and wide-ranging - a very topical subject for poetry as humanity
becomes the master and servant of its own rapidly
advancing devices.

Managed empathy networks, eh Robert. The mind boggles. Imagine trolling and online bullying and sharing the aftermath of a school shooting.... Hard not to be pessimistic when profit is the motivation.

Wow, clever and unfortunately so true - business making money out of anything that could benefit us all and anything that is profit driven only ends up benefiting a few.

nice work

Frightening, but then, I was already afraid...

Truly, it's somewhat of a comment on our agreed sense of privacy. I mean, am I, by posting my personal experiences here on WoL, implying some type of universal ownership of those experiences? And, upon what data would such an application as you mention be built?

The application of our personal data to consumerist principles (including our thoughts) might go on ad infinitum (or at least to some final detriment), without the imposition of regulation...just a thought, however inarticulate it might seem.
