THE FIGHT FROM WITHIN

Fighting the darkness from deep within,

This other side that wants to win,

Roar of a lion squeak of a mouse,

The darkness crying to be let out.

This is the highest quality,

Of me deciding on morality,

For mortality is a rising catastrophe,

I can't handle this evil mastery.

Me fighting me,

This I can't understand really.

Is this me or is this me,

Nobody would believe me,

not even me.

The subject of "self" = subjective and we are all prone to
dwell on ourselves to a greater or lesser degree. The trick
perhaps is to be forgiving for one's perceived faults whilst
not being tempted towards aggrandizing the upside of our
characters. In my youth, the term "big head" was commonplace towards any sign of the latter behaviour.
Make it easy on yourself - to adopt the title of a Walker
Brothers hit song of yesteryear.

When conflicted with oneself, the mind is always under siege. Peace of mind is worth attaining. Good poem here with a lot of emotion being tugged at.?
