If I had a horse
If I had a horse
If I had a horse what would it be?
A pretty little palomino mare
with spiky legs and chamfered hooves?
With sequins tabulated in a mane
of ivory silk
and nostrils delicately flaring?
A tossing head of Arab line
ears pricked, nose fluted, retrousee?
A forelock provocatively
tumbled
over one eye.
A my little pony, just for me.
Or a bold black stallion -
a champion, a wonder horse
made up of glossy muscle
flexing, galloping around
the equator of my world.
Kicks up the dust,
I jump on his back
he saves me from
disaster
every time.
Or up above in a trickle of stardust
a Pegasus, a god amongst horses.
A twirl of constellations
make a mane,
a shooting star a tail.
A glossy forelocked, round rumped steed
unbroken yet obedient to me.
No bridle needed
I just whisper in his ear
he does my bidding
he is the power of me.
The evening star will be his eye
and in all this northern hemisphere
he is the one and only horse for me!

I LOVE this! Fantastic audio - perfectly read... nicely written and yes, I agree, one of your best!
This has to get a cherry for the words, the reading and the photo.
Well done Ann!
