Because we are human

Fleshy…

Tested…

Messy…

Perplex…

Human…

Stifled by time

Long and drawn out -

Well over due

It happens to many -

We see few.

Because we are human…

Setting goals, making plans

Paying bills; following demands.

Because we are human…

Reaching out, falling down

Some are saved; whilst others’ drown.

Because we are human…

Crossing oceans or

Leaning over the fence

A life ordinary: A life intense.

All full up or discontent.

Because we are human…

And

I sit, uneasy at your gaze -

your face confused; a maze.

I’m human, I’m scared

LET ME IN

I love this poem so much. I adore the simplicity of the poem structure, which contrasts so beautifully with the philosophical content. And the last line almsot screams out. Beautiful.

Belinda, your poem has strong message" I am a human'-As a human beings we are weak individuals. Quite often life imposes bariers and obstacles on its way, facing hardships each day.. Your words are precious and very profound.Yet the poem shows simplicity. This what makes you stand out! Great write!
