Would I Lie To Me?

Would I Lie To Me?

Please lie to me, you know me best I'll believe anything you say I have a chance, despite the rest That dream fades with the light of day.

But all you have to do is ask Just go ahead and have no fear Until I lose the fleeting mask And with clear eyes, look in the mirror.

The feelings I have still remain It matters not how much I try To cause myself to ascertain The source of all of these, a lie.

You stand accused of leading on Someone who has a desperate need To just be loved, and held 'til dawn So may I ask, how do you plead?

I have to say in my defense It's easiest to lie to me Now listen, what I say makes sense I'll believe myself, naturally.
